Sun 21 Nov 2010, 2pm
David Helfgott is one of the world’s best loved pianists and he's coming to Nelson
David Helfgott is coming to perform in the Nelson School of Music auditorium in November 2010. Take this opportunity to see him in an intimate, unparalled venue,
on the new Sturgeon Steinway piano.
This performance will be the smallest concert hall he has performed in for many years – he holds the record for selling out the Sydney Opera House for four consecutive nights in a row.
David Helfgott – here in NELSON – 21 November 2010.
His remarkable life story was the subject of the Oscar-winning film Shine.
David Helfgott will perform a virtuosic program of popular works by the great romantic composers including Chopin, Liszt, Mendelssohn, Rachmaninov and, of course, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Flight of the Bumblebee, with which he dazzled a worldwide audience at the 1997 Oscars.
"A pianist of extraordinary talent….he soars into another dimension" Courier Mail
"I am reluctant to use the word genius, but I would certainly make an exception with David Helfgott" Le Parisien
